I have been babysitting since I was twelve years old. I have had many different babysitting jobs in high school for all types of families. I’ve had experience with both small and big families. For almost six summers I babysat daily for two boys. I also was a lifeguard at my local water park for five summers. There I helped teach swimming lessons for three summers for age’s infant to twelve years of age. In high school I helped out in the kindergarten classroom for two years. There I was the teachers assistant, this is what helped in figure out that I wanted to be a teacher. Also in high school, I helped teach Youth Group for pre-school through fifth grade at my church. Two summers ago I got a nanny job in Minnesota for a family of four with ages from five to twelve. There I took the children to their activities and watched them on a daily basis. I cherish my past childcare experience and have learned so much because of the opportunities that I got.

I worked with a family of twins girls from birth and a 1 year old boy for 4+ years. I was with the kids from when they got up in the morning to when they went to bed. During the day I took the kids where ever they needed to go and also did extra fun things like went to the park, zoo, and swimming. I also did cooking, cleaning, ran errands, homework and anything more that needed to be done during the day. I also traveled with the family whenever and wherever they needed me to go. They also had parties for kids that we would do a craft and snack once a month that I would set up for and put on every month. My boss also had another party once a month for the moms where they would get together and do scrapbooking for a night. So then I would just watch all the kids why they played and feed them all dinner and if they were not gone yet put them down to watch a movie to go to sleep or to wait to get picked up. I also worked with two other families on a part-time basis one with 2 boys (Infant and 1 year old) and the other with two girls (Infant and 1 year old) and did the same for them. I did everything for all the familys I worked with.

I've always loved working with kids. I grew up babysitting and after I graduated from high school, I found different jobs in childcare. Most of them have been in the daycare/preschool setting and they were all rewarding, and sometimes challenging but I've learned a lot from each one of them. My last job working with kids was my first nanny job and I loved it! My kids were a lot of fun, and I always looked forward to going to work. Now, I'm hoping to move to Lincoln and find another great nanny job.

I have watched my parents friends children several times since I was 14. I have also worked in a preschool, and in a daycare setting. At the daycare I was mainly in the infant room, where I was in charge of up to 4 infants under the age of 1 at any given time! I've also worked as a private caregiver for many families around my home. I worked for 10 months with a family with 2 girls ages 3 and 5, which ended when I had about a month left in my pregnancy. I also was a nanny for a family with 5 kiddos, who ended up not needing childcare any longer after about 6 months. And I just recently nannied for a family with 3 kiddos, a 4, 9 and 16 year old. I watched the 4 year old full time during the day and picked the other 2 up from school, and cared for them until their parents were off work. And then of course, I have my own personal experience with raising my son.
