I’ve been a nanny for a couple years now. I am currently a date night nanny to 4 great kids, ages 7 months, 2 years, 6 years, and 7 years. I also recently left a great experience in Las Vegas, NV where I took care of a 3, now 4, year old boy.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to paint, bake, do small science experiments, go to parks and explore and read with kids. I’ve found kids love these activities so much as well!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Getting to be able to be there for kids when their parents want to be but are not available is really important. The way their brains operate is so unique and every time I am with a child for an extended period of time I learn something valuable and so I cherish those moments as well. They’re outlook on life is something we all need a little bit of!
My experience with special needs children...
My mother was a teacher to a special needs class and I would get to go into work with her and help her out from time to time. I got to see how they operate and do lots of hands on learning with them that was very rewarding.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The boy that I used to nanny in Las Vegas and I were very close and so his mother will still send me videos of him saying hi to me or games he’s playing where’s he’s added me as a character so he can still play with me. It is the sweetest thing and it makes me happy every time I receive a message from her!
