Hi! My name is Desi. I’m 19, a first-generation college student, and I’m starting community college this fall. I’ve always loved cooking and baking—it’s my favorite way to bring people together. I’m also great with kids; at family events, you’ll almost always find me holding a baby (and they never cry with me!).

I have real babysitting experience I’ve taken care of three kids at once (two little girls and a boy) for a few hours while their parents enjoyed a date night, and I’ve also cared for my younger cousins on my own while there parents went out as well. I love spending quality time with kids, planning fun activities, and making sure they feel safe, happy, and entertained.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were when I babysat three kids at once (two little girls and a boy) for a few hours during a date night, and when I cared for my younger cousins on my own. I also grew up helping take care of my two younger sisters and many younger cousins, which gave me lots of hands-on experience keeping kids safe, entertained, and happy.

I love keeping kids happy, safe, and entertained whether that’s baking cookies, reading stories with silly voices, doing arts and crafts, or building blanket forts indoors. Outside, I enjoy playground trips, bubble fun, sidewalk chalk, and active games like tag. Parents can count on me to be patient, creative, and reliable while making sure their kids have a great time.

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and trusting environment where children feel comfortable and cared for. It’s not just about watching them it’s about being patient, attentive, and responsive to their needs while also making sure they have fun and feel supported. Building a strong connection helps children thrive and gives parents peace of mind.

I don’t have direct experience with special needs children, but I’m very patient, adaptable, and eager to learn. I’m committed to following any instructions from parents or caregivers to make sure their child feels safe, comfortable, and supported.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was one Valentine’s Day in February when I babysat three kids while their parents went out for a couple of hours. We got ready for bed together, but first, I cooked dinner steak with rice and beans and then we all ate together. After dinner, we built blanket forts in the living room and watched their favorite movie at the time, Wicked. The girls also wanted help making name tags for the candy they were taking to school the next day. We even enjoyed some ice cream after dinner.

But honestly, the best part was that we spent basically the whole night singing Wicked songs out loud together! It was such a joyful, silly time.

It was such a wonderful time, seeing them so happy with the little things the same simple joys I remember loving when I was their age. It really reminded me how special those moments are.
