A little bit about me

Hello everyone!

My name is Diamond. I’m 25 years old. I have experience nannying all the way from being a live in nanny in Germany to nannying in Atlanta and Columbus, GA. I currently tutor a few hours a week but have been tutoring going on 3 years with a company based in Atlanta. I am also First-Aid and CPR certified. This allows me to have a well rounded experience with kids of varied ages and in varied environments.

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing what the children enjoy, but I prefer as little screen time as possible. I enjoy playing outside on the playground with them, playing with their toys with them, coloring, drawing, but my favorite is definitely reading with them.

I’m a huge supporter of community and children bonding with other children, so I enjoy being able to take them to play dates as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is providing comfort, care, respect, and appreciation. I touched on this a little in one of my other answers, but it’s truly such an honor to be given the responsibility to care for kids.

I love community. The saying it takes a village to raise a child is something I take seriously. Children are so new to the world. We all are in a way. To be someone who is able to create and share some of these first moments of navigating the world with kids is truly a blessing to me.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have any experience with special needs children, but I am open and adaptable.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments with the kids are when they take the lead. As a nanny, it’s very important that I provide activities we can partake in. When a child comes to me with a suggestion though, it excites me because it shows me they’re growing into their autonomy and voice which is really exciting to see.

A more specific moment that happened recently was a text from a new family I’m nannying for. I was nannying later that day but the mom texted me earlier that her son said “I want Diamond to come now”. That warmed my heart as it was only my second day. I’m very grateful and honored to be chosen as someone that gets to provide comfort and appreciation for both the kids and the families.
