Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In California, I provided child care for adult classes, I was a gymboree facilitator and worked at a preschool for 5 years. Here in Colorado, I worked in an infant room, was a lead teacher for the preschool classroom and a school ager program. I have also worked as a Sunday school teacher. (I am the eldest of 4 and have a lot of cousins. I have been working with children t whole life. )
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love the children leading the interactive play. Depending on the children's age, I believe they need hands on, real life activities to promote their fine motor, gross motor and social emotional development. Even if that means cleaning up big messes afterwards! I am all for coloring, playing outdoors, hiding and seeking indoors, and reading books.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked as a behavior therapist for a couple of agencies. I also worked in an inclusive classroom, so I have worked with students with special needs on a one on one setting as well as a group setting.
