More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive experience working with children that goes beyond the care of my own daughters. I had the opportunity to be a teacher, where I focused on working with young people, an experience that taught me a lot about patience and creativity in teaching.

I have actively participated in organizing events specifically directed at them. These events were not only moments of fun but also opportunities for learning and the development of social skills among the little ones.

My commitment to the well-being of children has led me to engage in volunteer social work, focusing on children in vulnerable situations.

One of the projects that has most marked me was leading film workshops for children with special needs in Colombia. Through cinema, I could see how children explored new forms of expression, developed their creativity, and improved their communication and teamwork skills. This experience reinforced my belief in the power of art as an educational and therapeutic tool.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I thoroughly enjoy a variety of activities both indoors and outdoors, always prioritizing the safety, learning, and fun of the children. Outdoors, I love to walk in safe areas where we can be in touch with nature. I firmly believe that the natural environment is an excellent teacher, and I enjoy teaching children about the world around us through exploration and play.

Indoors, I am passionate about preparing healthy, tasty, and fun foods. I consider cooking together a wonderful way to introduce children to the world of nutrition.

Visiting museums is another activity I highly value. I believe it is an exceptional way to learn in an interactive and stimulating manner.

Reading stories and early stimulation are fundamental pillars in my approach to care.

Finally, I like to play music that relaxes the children, creating a calm and serene environment that supports their emotional well-being and concentration.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important part of being a nanny is the positive impact I can have on the development and well-being of the children in my care. Beyond the daily tasks and basic care, what I truly value is the opportunity to contribute to their emotional, social, and intellectual growth.

Creating a safe and loving environment where children feel heard, respected, and valued is fundamental. I strive to understand and meet their individual needs, recognizing that each child is unique and has their own set of interests, abilities, and challenges.

Inspiring curiosity, fostering creativity, and teaching through play and exploration are key aspects of my approach. I care not only about teaching them about the world around them but also about helping them develop crucial life skills such as empathy, problem-solving, and independence.

Finally, witnessing their growth, celebrating their achievements, and seeing them overcome obstacles is incredibly rewarding.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience working with children with special needs has been one of the most rewarding and enriching parts of my professional career. For three years, I had the privilege of working with children with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities, training them in cinematic initiation. This project was not only focused on teaching them the basics of cinema but also had a profound goal of inclusion.

Through this program, we sought not only to impart technical knowledge about cinema but also to foster an environment where each child could freely express themselves, develop their creativity, and most importantly, feel valued and part of a group. Cinematography became a powerful tool to improve their communicative, social, and emotional skills, offering them a new way to see the world and tell their own stories.

This experience taught me the importance of adapting teaching methodologies to the individual needs of each child, using art as a means to overcome barriers and prejudices.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment as a nanny is undoubtedly when I see a significant advance or a moment of discovery in any of the children I work with, whether they have special needs or not. It fills me with joy and satisfaction when I observe how a child overcomes a challenge, learns something new, or expresses themselves in a unique and creative way, thanks to the activities and the learning environment I have facilitated.

For children without special needs, this moment could be as simple as learning to tie their shoes by themselves, solving a complicated problem, or kindly sharing with their siblings or friends. For children with special needs, it could be the first time they manage to communicate a desire or need effectively, or when they successfully participate in a group activity adapted to their abilities.
