A little bit about me

Hello, My name is Dominique or Dom for short! I am a American Sign Language Interpreting major currently attending Ohlone College (via online) and I've been fluent in ASL for almost 6 years. I started my experience with child care working within a daycare. I worked with children from the ages of 6 months-school aged children. In that setting I helped meal prep, story time, supervised play time, field trips, etc. I am now a personal nanny and have worked with multiple families providing care from all ages. I am currently an independent contractor nanny working with The Nanny Tribe. I have great references that you are free to call if you'd like. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked with Precious Moments Daycare where I assisted in caring for children from 6 weeks old to school aged (around 12). I assisted with meal prep, story time, supervised play time, field trips, and educational learning time, etc.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love football, soccer, painting, music/singing, baking, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Honesty and partnership. Communicating what’s new with the children, what you notice, offering your option but making sure to ask how to be better. Learning the children and how they communicate, every child is different and it’s truly special when you find out what makes them unique. I find American Sign Language aids in communication especially with younger children!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is when I cared for twins and seeing them grow everyday ! I got one of the twins to roll over and catch up with his sister. It was so precious, his smile, his excitement!
