Activities I enjoy doing with children...
PLAY all day! my own first-hand experience as a mother as well as my professional work with ABA and play-based therapeutic supports for children on the autism spectrum has enlightened me to the immensely impactful power of play. I love to explore with kids I work with through role play, sensory activities, adventures either in our minds, in books, or in real life, music, language development via ASL (I am not fluent but have a conversational signing ability), dance, art, etc. I am highly adaptable and truly enjoy engaging children in their interests as well as “pivoting” to new or alternative play and learning opportunities as the day plays out naturally. Sometimes it truly does not feel like work to learn and teach through the power of play!

My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with preschool aged children through high school and beyond with ASD level 3 and accompanying challenging behaviors. I have worked as a behavior technician providing support through the New England Center for Children (NECC)’s Model ABA Partnership classroom as an ABA Tutor within the Barnstable school district. Most recently I have expanded my experience with autism and behavior supports to include in-home ABA services through a Cape-based company as well as one on the south shore that provides both center-based ABA through play-based approaches as well as in-home supports.
