Hi, I’m Lainey! I have over a year and a half of hands-on experience working with children of all ages as a Children’s Program Specialist at a rock climbing gym! I created a well-structured, engaging, and nurturing environment that helped children build confidence, have fun, and stay safe. I also have one-on-one babysitting experience for family and friends, giving me a strong foundation in personalized care.

I have led countless birthday parties, helping parents feel supported and stress-free during high-energy celebrations with a genuine love of building relationships with both children and their families.

"Lainey worked with me at as an employee of a climbing gym, though we are unique in that we cater to kid-specific climbing sessions as well as birthday parties ranging from 5-30 kids. Lainey is one of if not the best person I have on staff when it comes with connecting with children and making them feel comfortable trying something might potentially be new and intimidating to them. She has a way of talking at their level without being patronizing, never hesitating to make herself look silly to make the kids feel more comfortable. She is able to switch between professional with the parents as needed and become the children's friend as the situation calls for. On duty she is actively lifeguarding them while they participate in pretty strenuous and challenging physical activity. Lainey is able to help them through their frustrations while ensuring they're exploring their boundaries in a safe space. I was lucky to her on staff and would recommend her anywhere !"

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Trips to childrens museums, picnics at the park, a wide range of arts and crafts, building forts, sender city (discounted access with past employment!), summertime pool days (always hypervigilent during this one 😅), and of course making sure that school work gets done!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Understanding the importance of a healthy balance between providing structure, boundaries, and guidance—while also creating space for fun, creativity, and adventure. Kids thrive when they feel both safe and inspired, and I aim to offer both.

My experience with special needs children...

I mainly have experience with children on the spectrum. I understand the importance of sensory issues, stimming, and staying patient and kind during meltdowns while providing non destructive outlets and distractions to help them regain their ability to regulate! I also believe that implementing healthy coping skills from a young age and finding the ones that work best for each child is an incredibly important part of helping them grow into a happy, functional adult.

The most important part about being a nanny...

So many of my interactions with the children I worked with have deeply impacted me, from being told I'm their favorite staff member to being gifted valentines day bags. I don't think I could choose just one!
