I am a part time college student, looking for a full time caregiver, nanny, pet sitter, or personal assistant position, and I am flexible with my schedule.I am an experienced nanny, and absolutely adore children with my entire heart. I previously taught art and drama classes at a theater camp in the past, and have worked for a good variety of people (references available upon request). I have babysat for families with kids ranging from newborns to 15 years old. I enjoy being out in the community, actively engaging with children in what THEY enjoy doing, and making them feel comfortable and content while mom and dad are away. I also adore animals, and do my absolute best to be sensitive towards their needs as well, and keep them happy and healthy when owners are away. I have house sat and taken care of many animals for friends, family, and those in need as well(references available upon request). There's just something about taking care of everyone and ensuring safety, happiness, respect, and security that makes me happy. I would say that Care giving is my passion, and I enjoy helping people out in any way that I can..it really makes my days so rewarding and worthwhile. I also obtain skills and knowledge of working with kids and young adults with special needs. Working with kids who have special needs is my preference, and I absolutely adore helping them grow and function at their highest ability. My best friend and older brother Josh has downs syndrome, and he is my entire world and heart. Josh has not only taught me so much about myself, but he has shown me how to be the best I can be in my life, and pursue each day with a positive attitude. I have learned so much from him, and I enjoy spending time with him and helping out with his needs as often as I can. I am very loyal to the families, pets, and people that I provide care for, and I am also very reliable. If you simply need an assistant to help you with tasks, I am very familiar with computers, filing, organizing, and I can present and speak well over the phone. I also have a very safe car(volvo 4 door), and am happy to accommodate needs for transportation as well. Keeping a house clean, and having meals or snacks ready for everyone is also a task I greatly enjoy doing. I love to cook, and I do not mind helping out with anything that is asked of me. Having fun, keeping everyone happy, and respecting all wishes of my boss is the most important priority for me, next to safety. In regards to safety, I am familiar with basic first aid/CPR, and my mom is a nurse, so I have learned a lot of basic knowledge from her as well. My objective is to be the best caregiver/provider that I can be, and I take a great amount of love and pride in my work. I just moved here from Florida about 2 weeks ago, where I was previously working as a 9-1-1 emergency dispatcher for the past 5 and a half years. Prior to that I was a nanny for a family in Orlando, FL. I feel that my experience as a dispatcher has helped make me an even better nanny as I am now much more capable of handling myself in an emergency situation should there ever be one. I am also CPR and first aid certified. I have a clean driving record and a valid California driver's license. I drive a 2008 Honda Civic, which is clean and maintained regularly. I have cared for children of all ages from infants to 13 yr olds. I began caring for children at the age of 12. The first family I cared for at that age was a family of 3, the youngest was 6 weeks old, the middle child was 7 and the oldest was 8, and they were all girls. Over time the two older girls spent less time under my care, but I cared for the infant, Angelina, until she was 5. I did this after school, and all summer long for 5 years. The second family I cared for began as a family of two when I was 17. They had a boy named David who was 2 and a girl named Mary who was 4. About a year after I began babysitting them, they welcomed another baby girl named Jane. I cared for them for about 3 years, and became a nanny to them the summer of the third year while I was home from college. After that I moved to Florida, and that is when I worked for the family in Orlando, who had a 6 month old baby girl and a 13 year old boy. I have taken care of everything from housework, to cooking, to being a personal assistant to one of the parents.

I have been babysitting since I was 12, caring for a wide range of families and children. I was a regular sitter/nanny/mothers helper for four boys ages 3-14 for about two years back in my home state of CT. Currently residing in CA, I have been a regular sitter (day time, date night, overnights) for a family with one boy, aged 3 and one girl, 6 months old. Both of these have been wonderful experiences, and I have certainly learned to handle a variety of situations, ages, and energy levels through these experiences. Since I have an undergraduate degree in psychology, I absolutely love babysitting because I get to see those principles and processes in action! I try to be a continuation of the family's child rearing philosophies because I believe consistency is key to raising a healthy child. I love being active and outdoors, and love love love interacting with children in an active setting - sports, day trips, nature walks etc. Parents know best, and I am here to provide support to parenting in any and every way possible! I also worked at a therapeutic residential boarding school for adolescents with special needs. I have worked with adolescents dealing with behavioral and learning deficits, Aspergers Syndrome, psychiatric difficulties, as well as family obstacles. Through this position I have become better at adapting to the roller coaster ride that is raising a child!
