Hi! My name is Elise and I am graduating from Sonoma State with a bachelors in Kinesiology in December. I hope to work as a pediatric occupational therapist one day so love having the experience and time with children through nannying! I have been a nanny for 6+ years and have experience with a range of age groups. Most recently I have been working with an infant in which I have been lucky to be able to watch her grow up in front of me and plan to continue with her part time. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been caring for an infant for the past 2 years and have loved being able to see her grow up. Before that, I nannied for a family for about a year with two elementary ages children. I also have had various internships and volunteer experiences within pediatrics as I would like to become a pediatric occupational therapist one day.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love going to the park with children, and anything outside! I am a very active person so I love sports and any high energy games. I also love music and art. I played piano for many years, and have recently loved to paint with the kids I babysit. I love to play games and to come up with creative activities that are engaging for everyone!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think it is being fun but also having really clear boundaries with the kids. I think there needs to be a close friendship but still enough of strictness for the child to listen when I am saying something. I also think it is important to work as a team with the parents so that the children are in the most positive and encouraging environment possible for childcare.

My experience with special needs children...

I am a volunteer at Seawolf Fit, which is a program run through Sonoma State that provides exercise programs for individuals with disabilities. I work one on one with the children and adjust to their needs depending on what is needed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment is when I took the 2 girls that I babysit for twice a week to the park. We were at the park and I was pushing one of the little girls on the swing. The other little girl was going down the slide. They both were laughing, smiling and having so much fun. When the youngest one came down from the slide she came running up to me, gave me a hug and said "I love you". That moment is ingrained in my mind and makes me really happy thinking about it.
