A little bit about me

Hi! I'm Elizabeth — a child care pro with 10+ years working with kids of all ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
My background is in special education and child welfare, so I am very comfortable with kids who need a little extra support — whether that's a child with autism, ADHD, learning differences, or just some big emotions to work through. That said, I'm just as happy chasing toddlers around the backyard or helping with homework after school!
I'm CPR/First Aid certified, trained in Orton-Gillingham literacy, and have experiences as an adaptive personal trainer — so keeping kids active and having fun is kind of my thing. I also have dogs and a cat of my own, so I am very comfortable with animals and can provide some basic obedience training for your pup if needed.
I bring a lot of patience, a lot of energy, and a genuine love for what I do. I'd love to meet your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am a former special education teacher, having taught kiddos from preschool through 12th grade. I have taught in public schools as well as Montessori schools. Before teaching, I have nannied for a couple different families, both with neurotypical children and children with special needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going to museums, parks, the library, extracurricular activities, the beach, science centers, and anywhere else the children are excited about exploring.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a nanny, I get to be a safe and loving adult for the children. I get to be a part of them growing into the adults that they will be one day. It is a very special role that I take very seriously.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for children with special needs as a nanny and also as a SPED teacher.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It is hard to choose just one favorite moment. I was there when the little one I nannied first began to walk, when one of my special needs kiddos had a language breakthrough, and when one little girl told me that she had a nightmare that dinosaurs were chasing her but Ms. Liz protected her and kept her safe.
