I have extensive experience caring for and working with children in a variety of settings. I have taught swim lessons for several years, helping children of different ages develop water safety skills, confidence, and proper technique. I have also babysat for over six years, where I was responsible for supervising children, preparing meals, assisting with homework, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment. In addition, I worked as a summer camp counselor, leading group activities, managing daily schedules, and fostering teamwork and positive behavior. I also served as a Kids Club employee at a local gym, where I supervised children, ensured their safety, and engaged them in age-appropriate activities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and engaging them in fun, meaningful activities. Some of my favorite things to do with kids include playing outdoor games, swimming, arts and crafts, and creative play. I enjoy helping with homework and reading together, as well as planning activities that encourage learning, confidence, and creativity. I also like establishing routines, whether it’s getting ready for the day, preparing snacks, or winding down with quiet activities. Most importantly, I focus on creating a safe, positive, and supportive environment where children feel comfortable and cared for.

The most important part of being a nanny is building trust with both the child and the family. Creating a safe, supportive, and consistent environment allows children to feel comfortable being themselves, try new things, and grow in confidence. When children know they are cared for, respected, and understood, it sets the foundation for positive relationships, learning, and emotional well-being.

My experience with special needs children...

I have hands-on experience working with children with special needs through both school and professional settings. I participated in the Best Buddies program at my high school, where I built meaningful relationships with students in special education and supported them socially and emotionally. In addition, I currently work with special education children at my job, where I assist with daily activities, provide individualized support, and help create a positive, inclusive environment. These experiences have strengthened my patience, communication skills, and ability to adapt to each child’s unique needs while ensuring they feel safe, valued, and supported.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nannying moments was with a child who was very shy and hesitant to open up at first. During my first few days, they stayed quiet and kept to themselves, but I made sure to be patient and follow their pace. We started doing simple activities together like coloring and reading, and over time they began to talk more and show their personality. One day, they ran up to me excited to show me something they had made, and it was a moment that really stuck with me. Seeing that trust and connection grow reminded me how important consistency, patience, and genuine care are when working with children.
