A little bit about me

I am an energetic mother of 3 children, that were homeschooled for seven years, but are now in highschool. I have taught regular and special education for many years, mostly with preschool and kindergarten ages. I have also worked for the Early Steps program, helping birth-three year olds with developmental delays. I have always had a passion for working with infants and toddlers and enjoy being a loving, active and playful caretaker. I believe that young children's development is best met through playing, being read to, and enjoying nature. And I enjoy doing all of these things. I look forward to finding a family setting to put these talents to use! I am no longer CPR certified but would be happy to renew that certification if needed.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a parent, foster parent and now a brand new grandparent. These are my proudest accomplishments! I have also taught in public school for over ten years and homeschooled two of my children for 7 years. Lastly, I have been working for the Florida Early Intervention program. As an Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist, I help birth to three year olds, with developmental delays, meet their milestones.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy the simple things about infants and toddlers, reading to them, floor-time play, exploring nature, nursery rhymes and just rocking or holding them as needed!

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with special needs children in my own family, through teaching and in the early intervention program. I have worked with a large variety of disabilities including autism, learning disabilities/dyslexia, cerebral palsy, feeding tubes, seizures, speech delay and more.
