On my free time I volunteer as a full time youth leader at my church, I have also volunteered in children’s church & worked as a teachers assistant in a school setting. For two years I worked as a full time preschool teacher ages 2-4.

A few activities I enjoy while caretaking are going on walks, adventures at the park, arts and crafts, sensory activities, and any outdoor activities. As a former preschool teacher one of my favorite activities was to host dance parties and play instructional games and songs.

My experience with special needs children...
As a TA I currently have the privilege of providing extra support in classrooms with students who have special needs. I am required to have patience and ensure that all their needs are met according to their IEP and 504 plans. I have also had the opportunity of working with children who have speech delays, behavioral and learning disabilities.
I have learned that every child needs different supports. There is not one single method of assistance. Every child is different and unique. I am there to help at any capacity required.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Some of my favorite nanny moments have been during free play. As a huge advocate for free play, it’s always fun to see children have the liberty to be wild or choose how they want to spend their time. Observing some of the children I have cared for has brought me great joy, every child is blessed with their own unique identity and character. It’s an honor to be apart of their journey.
