More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a teacher's assistant to 3-year olds at a local preschool. I saw first hand the importance of discipline in the classroom. I like to be gentle but firm with the children as they grow and develop a routine for themselves.
I was a nanny for two young girls, ages 3 and 7. I took them to school for many years and enjoyed extracurricular activities with them.
I worked through Care.com to care for a two year old girl and a 5-year-old boy. I was glad they played well together and that I could be a part of their young lives.
I worked for a family with a 2-year-old girl for quite a while. I could see her motor skills developing.
Additionally, I care for a one-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy 2 days a week..They are a joy to be around, just as all of them are!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy playing indoors with the kids and all of their various toys. They all love to read! I see some of their challenges as they grow.
Playing Outside is lots of fun as well. There is a ball for all types of sports and even a trampoline too.
I enjoy walking some of the kids and riding in a stroller as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Spending quality time with children while establishing a mutual respect with them is important. Learning to listen to them to improve communication is key as well. Most of all, having fun is the best thing to do!!
My experience with special needs children...
I cared for a teenage boy who suffered from a form of autism.
Reading with him and having regular conversations with him were helpful. He was rather introverted and I am the extrovert so we got along well.
We had a relationship based on mutual respect and I enjoyed being around him.
I also took care of a 3-year-old who had delayed speech. I am proud of the progress he is making as he continues to grow.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I was helping the girls with a craft project one day which involved paint. I left the room for a moment, only to come back seeing them mixing different colors together. They put a blindfold on me and then proceeded to give me hilights with a little bit of glitter and a hint of paint. Little did I know...we still laugh about that to this day. And yes, everything washed out of my hair, fortunately!!
