More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My most extensive experience with kids comes from the unique experience of babysitting emergency foster placements for a friend alongside my mother, full time. We cared for children ranging from infants less than a week old, to teenagers. Some placements stayed less than a week, others multiple months. Through this experience I gleaned hands on knowledge of infant care, and discovered my love for babies! I also worked as gymnastics teacher and coach for 4 years, working with children of all ages, from less than a year old (alongside their parents), to early teens. For a year and a half [phone number hidden]) I became certified and worked as a registered behavior technician, meeting with children with ASD and their families in their homes throughout the week to help them learn communication, social, academic, fine motor, gross motor, and numerous other skills to help them thrive in school and in the world. I have an associates degree in psychology which included child development courses.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing all kinds of things with kids, but some of my favorites are crafts, play-doh, and anything creative and messy, as well as outdoor activities like riding bikes, jumping on trampolines, and playing on the playground. I especially love field trips! Some of my favorite places are the Magic House, STL zoo, and SkyZone. As for infants, I love to read books with them, sing songs, guide fine motor and gross motor movements like clapping, waving, jumping, etc., play peek-a-boo, give tickles, and anything to make them smile/laugh! I am always willing to assist with homework, learning instruments, learning board games such as chess, practicing cooking & cleaning, and also teaching basic sign language. American Sign Language was my high school foreign language credit, and I am able to teach the alphabet and basic signs, as well as “baby sign language” to infants. In any activity, safety comes first; helmets on heads, careful supervision, always having a specific safety plan in place!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Keeping children safe, nourishing and fostering them in every way possible, helping them grow and thrive, and making sure they have FUN! I want to help families by being a person they can trust to care for their children, keep their homes tidy, keep their pets and plants healthy, and implement helpful schedules to keep everything organized and easy on THEIR end. While a nanny can never replace the crucial role of parent, they can be an invaluable resource for families of all kinds. Nannies allow parents to work, providing for themselves, their homes, and their children. Nannies have been around for centuries, and their work will always be needed! It takes a village… or maybe just the right nanny!
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve worked as a registered behavior technician for 1.5 years, with a variety of individuals differing in age and ability. I’ve helped children gradually learn and apply new skills, such as academic (counting, identifying numbers and letters, sight words, addition and subtraction, writing letters, etc.), social (asking for what they want/need appropriately, responding to questions, playing with peers, etc.), fine & gross motor (pincer grasps, holding writing utensils , eating with forks and spoons, jumping, playing catch, etc.), self-care (potty training, washing hands, taking off and putting on clothing items, brushing teeth, etc.), and much more!
I grew up in a diverse homeschool group surrounded by people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. We had children in wheelchairs, on the autism spectrum, and with Down syndrome. I have always been taught to treat ALL people with respect and dignity, and believe that inclusion and accommodation is crucial to everyone’s wellbeing.

I’ve been working with children for well over 20 years, starting in daycare centers and as a nanny before running my own in-home daycare. I’ve worked with all ages, but I really enjoy infants and toddlers and building those early connections with them. I’m very patient, reliable, and flexible, and I try to bring a calm, positive energy into everything I do. I love creating a safe, structured environment where children feel comfortable and supported.
