More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve worked as a full-time professional nanny for over 20 years, caring for children from newborns to early elementary school age. My experience includes long-term roles with several families, where I supported children’s growth through every stage—from infancy, to toddler milestones, to preparing for preschool and beyond. I created daily routines, offered age-appropriate developmental activities, and became a consistent and loving presence in their lives.
In addition to nannying, I’ve raised my own children and am now a proud grandmother. I’ve also worked in professional childcare settings such as the Kids Academy at Life Time Fitness, where I engaged children in creative, educational play. I’m trained in Early Childhood Education, fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, and I use baby sign language to support communication and development with infants and toddlers.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love creating playful, meaningful experiences that support each child’s development and curiosity. Some of my favorite activities include:
Hands-on Montessori-inspired games that encourage independence and confidence
Reading together and exploring stories in multiple languages (English, Portuguese, and Spanish)
Singing, music, and movement to support early learning and joyful expression
Arts and crafts that spark creativity and fine motor skills
Cooking simple, healthy meals together to teach life skills and nutrition
Nature walks and outdoor play to build connection with the world and support physical health
Using baby sign language with infants and toddlers to support early communication
I tailor activities to each child’s age, interests, and developmental stage — always aiming to make learning fun, nurturing, and engaging.

The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part of being a nanny is building a trusting, nurturing relationship with both the child and their family. Children thrive when they feel safe, seen, and supported — and I strive to be a consistent, loving presence who helps them grow with confidence and joy.
I see my role as more than supervision — it's about partnering with parents to support a child’s development emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Whether I’m teaching language through play, helping a toddler navigate big feelings, or preparing a healthy meal, I approach every moment with care and intention.
It’s a privilege to contribute to a child’s early years — and I treat that responsibility with both heart and professionalism.

My experience with special needs children...
As a mother of a son on the autism spectrum, I bring not only professional experience, but also deep personal understanding, patience, and compassion when it comes to supporting children with special needs. My lived experience has shaped how I show up — with presence, flexibility, and a belief in every child’s unique brilliance.
Professionally, I’ve cared for children with developmental and behavioral differences in both home and group settings. At the Kids Academy at Life Time Fitness, I worked with children of varying needs and abilities, supporting inclusive play and helping each child feel safe, seen, and valued.
I adapt my care based on the child’s communication style, sensory needs, and emotional cues. Whether it’s creating structured routines, using visual aids or baby sign language, or offering calm sensory activities, I strive to be a supportive and attuned caregiver who partners with families to meet their child exactly where they are.
