Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I've been taking care of children in my family for aunts and uncles for 8 years, watching after them, enforcing household rules, getting them fed, and putting them to sleep. Sometimes I have been paid for doing so, but other times I haven't. Either way, I'm very experienced in looking after kids.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I adapt to whatever the child seems to want to do. If they're quiet, I might not do much with them except talk to them a little and play with toys with them. If they're a lot louder and more hyperactive, I'm fine with going outside, running around, playing ball, playing with sticks outside, playing intense in-character roleplay about how we need to defend the planet from aliens- whatever they need to get their energy out.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing to me about being a nanny is the children's happiness and well-being. Of course, I do have limits and won't just do whatever they want and give in every time they start crying, but their general enjoyment and engagement is very important to me. I know how it feels to be a kid and have the person taking care of you just ignore you and watch TV and forget to make sure you eat dinner, so it's very important to me to help ensure that other children don't grow up that way, too. I promise that when I look after your kids, I will absolutely not just sit on the couch and ignore them to stare at my phone the entire time. I'll engage with them and try as best I can to make them feel cared for.
My experience with special needs children...
I am autistic and so is my little sister who is 10 years younger than me. I know a good amount about interacting with autistic children and also being one.
