A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Elyssa and I am a online student at Florida International University majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I have 4 years of experience with children, whether it be cooking or homework help all the way through complex subjects like chemistry, physics, and calculus! I have a 4.0 GPA and I’m currently a sophomore. As the eldest daughter in a family with lots of children I’ve always had a knack for taking care of the little ones whether they’re infants less than a year of age all the way up to teenagers!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked for 2 years as a instructor at Mathnasium where I provided quality instruction for students in need of a little bit of extra help when it came to mathematics, but I also made it fun for them to learn! I found real life scenarios to incorporate into my students learning that made kids that once refused to do math actually enjoy it!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love being able to make kids happy and learn about things they enjoy doing! Whether it be playing a board game, reading to or with them, or going outside to play! I also love teacher, I was a coach for a high school/middle school sports team this past year which warmed my heart to see the kids so happy!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is making sure that not only the kids are taken care of emotionally and physically but also making sure your making the parents jobs easier in anyway they can whether that be cleaning up around the house or picking up groceries!

The most important part about being a nanny...

When I relocated due to graduating high school I had parents messaging me letting me know that they’re kids were consistently asking where Ms. Elyssa was and that they missed me. That made me realize how much of an impact that I’ve had on these kids!

I am a mom of 3 boys and I am 42 years old. I love to be outdoors, hiking, going to the beach and looking for the next adventure!!
Two of my sons are young adults now. With my youngest son I was a stay at home mom for 4 years. I have experience in education and teaching as I decided to homeschool my son for 3 years and give him the proper intervention for his dyslexia. He is now back in school full time.

I discovered during this time that I ultimately have a passion for teaching and working with children.
My previous job experience is primarily in the hospitality field in Massachusetts, Boston with over 15 years experience.
My husband, son and myself have recently relocated to Florida this past summer.
My passion is working with children and I looking for a fabulous family to care for.
