More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
At home with my cousins and siblings, I spent a lot of time caring for them. I also spent 3 years as a live in nanny for my best friend and her 2 children along with her adopted nephew with special needs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing outside and running around, or on a rainy day staying in a building a fort, or playing games. I love to make up games too and find new creative things to enjoy doing together. My favorite though, is craft time. I love getting creative and making art and teaching kids new tips and tricks on how to be an artist:)
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part of being a nanny is the impact you have on impressionable young minds. Our children are our future and they should be taught good morals and values. Things that will keep their minds strong and secure. Being around kids, you are ALWAYS teaching them something, Because they are always watching. They watch the way you carry yourself, how you behave. And they listen to the things you say. And in a way it can really become a part of how they treat themselves, and what they view as normal. It's important to show them a good example, so they can be happy, kind, and successful adults with loving memories from their childhood.
My experience with special needs children...
My best friend gained custody of her nephew who has special needs. He was the sweetest 4 yr old boy. He needed help changing, going to the bathroom, paying attention, and he didn't know how to speak. But he absolutely stole my heart and I loved being able to see him learn and grow and smile
The most important part about being a nanny...
My best friend had an emergency and spent the night in the hospital, so me being a live in nanny at the time, I took care of the kids while she was away. They were scared for their mommy and with out her it got to them. So I let them all make cards to her with their favorite crafts to help her feel better. Then we had a fire outside and made a fort on the trampoline with lights and bubbles, and we put on a movie. What would have been a worrisome night for them, became fun and hopeful and exciting. Even for me because, who doesn't love forts and crafts?
