Hello, my name is Emily and I am 20 years old. I currently am a sophomore at the University of Minnesota Duluth. I am an active person who loves to be outside, especially in beautiful Duluth. Activities I enjoy doing with children...

As an active person who enjoys Duluth and the outdoors, some of my favorite things to do with children outside include, going to the park, going on walks or bike rides, and even just playing catch in the yard. However as much as I love to be outside some indoor activities I love include crafts, coloring, and more. I also can love an occasional snow day filled with baking cookies and maybe even building a fort to watch a movie in.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Based on my experience with children and their parents, the most important part is the connection I form with not only the kids with the parents. The family I worked for this past summer became my second family, some of my favorite moments with them were breakfasts with the whole family. My relationship with parents is extremely important to me, I want to be helpful in easing the stress parents take on. Parents being able to trust me and my care for their children is a huge priority for me. With that being said my relationship with children is the most important thing to me. Finding a balance between trusted friend while still remaining an authority figure is a learning curve with each child. I value fun while still needing children to respect me in order to keep them safe. I want children to be just as excited to tell me their fun news and achievements as they are to tell their family, knowing I will be so proud and excited for them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments as a nanny have to be at the pool this past summer, a great way too cool off. Another favorite memory of mine is taking older kids sledding in the winter.
