A little bit about me

I have been a mental health professional for 9 years, working with special needs kids/adolescents and adults. I’ve been a babysitter for toddlers and children. I love pets and would help take care of the furry babies as well! I’m very down to earth but I believe in consistency so I will always enforce the rules of the home. I love exploring with kids outside and getting them involved in exercise and games. I am very in touch with my inner child and kids are drawn to me because of that. I work part time as a hostess right now but I would be willing to become a full time nanny if the pay is better than my current job. I am returning to grad school to finish my masters degree in psychology and plan to go on to complete doctoral work in psychology. I don’t smoke or drink and I am mentally stable. I have worked as a direct care worker, paraprofessional, special education aide, personal care assistant, overnight residential counselor, drug and alcohol counselor, family based worker, and I have volunteered in an orphanage in India.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love taking kids swimming, biking, hiking, really any outdoor activity. When we are inside, I like making art in any medium they choose. I also enjoy playing games, doing puzzles, reading, teaching kids about topics they enjoy, writing, and dancing/singing!

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for children on the autism spectrum (they are my absolute favorite!) I have also worked with kids who have physical disabilities as well as kids with ADHD, ODD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, OCD, substance abuse, and trauma.
