swimming, bike rides, I'm pretty good at freeze tag, even helping with homework or playing games. I love watching kids read and learn about new things or thrive in their own personal hobbies.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My most important idea with children is making sure they're comfortable. Sometimes it's important to make compromises with children, but I find it crucial to give them reasons as to why they should want to complete or participate in something rather than force them. As well as giving them the proper rewards and benefits when doing something great even if that's just a verbal appreciation like "you did a great job" or "I'm so proud of you."
My experience with special needs children...
During high school I volunteered to help with an interactive therapy program that allowed children to work with and ride horses! This is so incredibly fun for me as watching some children who are typically very antisocial becaome a new happy person just by finding an activity they love to open them up warmed my heart. Throughout this though it helped me gain the patience and understanding to overcoming tantrums, frustration, fear, and confusion and helping guide them to an understanding whilst also realizing boundaries and making compromises to ensure that everyone involved can be comfortable and enjoy the time we spend together.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite part about working with kids is being a part of their successes and learning experience. There's nothing more special to me then having a kid run up with the biggest smile on their face to show you something they'd done or learned. Cannot put a price on a Child's happiness.
