Hi, my name is Emily. I’m 17 years old. I’ve been working with kids for 6 years now. Im currently working on my CDA (child development associates). I’m looking for a family interested in after school care. I have experience with special needs kids. Working with kids is my passion. I enjoy going to the park, the zoo, splash pads, having dance parties, being outside, arts and crafts, learning activities, reading stories, and math. I currently intern at a daycare and I love it.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteered as both a cheer and volleyball coach for kids. I’ve also worked in a day care center and currently intern at one. I babysit my 3 year old niece and 2 month old nephew.

I love to do arts and crafts, play outside, go to the park, go to the zoo, take walks, have dance parties, bake, watch movies, learning activities, reading stories and lots more

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part for me is helping the kids learn and develop new skills. Also making the kids feel safe and cared for when their parents have to work.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for a boy with shaken baby syndrome. He had the mental capacity of a toddler. I fed him, watched movies with him, and changed his diaper. I also have a nephew with hemophilia B (a condition where his blood doesn’t clot right). I’ve also taken care of kids with autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite memories was when one little girl came up to me and asked for a hug and to sit with me because she missed her dad. Or when my niece learned the dance to the song Greece lightning and did the full dance including jumping onto the couch which represents the car in the movie.
