A little bit about me

Hey, I’m Emma! I am 19 years old and I have been working with kids for quite sometime now as a caretaker/babysitter/nanny for families with multiple children. I love being imaginative with kids and teaching kids new things. I come from a larger family so I grew up helping take care of my siblings. As well as caring for kids, teaching them how to use their manners, and how to clean up after themselves, I also don’t mind tidying up the house, doing the dishes, and making meals. Currently I am still a part time nanny for a family right now on Fridays and would like another part time nannying position in the meantime. Starting in December I will be nannying for that same family on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays although I am willing to work around those days if I continue working for your family when December starts!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Once when I was about 13 I co-lead a youth group summer camp at my church for kindergarteners.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to have imaginative play time where we can be silly and creative allowing the child/children to lead whatever game we are playing with their imagination. I also love doing science experiments with children and teaching them that learning can be fun! I like to be outside and be active whether that means going for a walk, going a bike ride, playing a game, or going to the park. I like to build forts with kids its always a fun, creative activity which can be a good challenge for them. I also like to incorporate art somehow if they are interested through drawing, painting, or doing chalk outside.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part for me as a nanny is that I treat every child as a unique individual with different personalities because no two people are the same even if they are in the same family although I understand it can be difficult to reach each individuals’ needs when you work with siblings as a group but I try my very hardest to do that.

My experience with special needs children...

I have no experience in this but I am willing and open to learn!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments as a nanny are when I can tell that I have made an actual impact on a child's life whether that be by them learning something new that I’ve taught them, drawing a picture for me, or being able to tell that i’ve helped them tap into their potential or interests; basically just knowing that i’ve helped them grow as individuals.
