A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Emma! I am a 22 year old with a background of four years in Emergency Medicine. I am BLS/ACLS (CPR and Advanced Life Saving skills) certified and I am currently studying for my degree in Surgical Technology with a plan to pursue my Surgical First Assist after! I have one sibling who is now 10 and lives back home with my family in MI. We have a 12 year age gap so it made growing up very interesting! I absolutely adore him. I’ve worked with kids in the pediatric department of one of my Emergency Room positions and in our family church back home. That includes ages 0-18. I am a student so my hours are very flexible. I am comfortable with all ages, household responsibilities, chores, grocery shopping, errands, etc. I have a clean driving record and a valid drivers license. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked in an adult/pediatric emergency room for 2 years and an adult only level one trauma center in a big city for two years. I am BLS, ACLS and I can re-obtain to become PALS certified if that makes you more comfortable! My family also owns and runs a non-denominational church back home which has children’s classes every Sunday from ages 0-18 that my parents oversee. I spent a lot of time doing lessons, crafts and teaching/learning with all ages!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I was a 5 sport athlete growing up and all throughout high school, including one year of basketball in college! I did gymnastics, played soccer, ran track and played volleyball. Basically, sports or anything physical activity…i’m IN. I loved american girl dolls growing up so that’s a bonus in my book! A huge imagination and I go well together. I’ll sit at the restaurant and eat play food, I’ll be a patient while they wrap me in bandages or make box forts to travel to the moon. I love exploring the imaginative mind! Crafts are always fun! I love making things and playing outside is something I will never say no to! I’m very flexible and love learning new things.

My experience with special needs children...

My mother was a special ed teacher for a very long time, I had some experience helping out in her classrooms and have a very small amount of knowledge but no applicable certifications.
