I love engaging with children in any activities they enjoy. I love to go outside, play games, read books, do educational activities, and to bake and cook. My favorite thing is being creative and helping children to participate in artistic crafts and activities.

The most important part of being a nanny is providing safe and effective care. Establishing an environment in which the children and families feel secure and satisfied is the goal.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with special needs children since freshman year of high school. I was president of the Best Buddies club at my high school, and continued with a leadership position at FSU. I have worked at New Leaps Academy as a paraprofessional. I provided direct care and teaching to children with a variety of special needs. I have volunteered with many different organizations, working directly with their special needs programs. This summer I have had the opportunity to have an internship at IMPACT in Tallahassee. I worked closely with staff members in the summer camp program to provide a fun environment that the children enjoyed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I was playing with Toy Story characters with a little boy with Down Syndrome. He is nonverbal and usually does not use any words or sounds to express himself. By engaging him with the toys, I was able to get him to say a few words and learn how to express himself through his toy characters.
