I have cared for children since I was a babysitter in my teens to lots of cousins and friends - ages newborn to Highschool.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Playing outside, climbing/exploring teaching/reading, singing/dancing, also creating songs for chores such as “Clean Up” and “Brush Your Teeth”, also “Lullaby” I sang to my girls. I love playing sports-basketball/football/softball/tennis/kick ball/ jumping on trampoline -😂arts/crafts/painting/coloring/ as well as creating short plays/ Skits with kids too.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most about caring for children apart from safety fitst-is listening and learning about each one as an individual with each child having different personalities and challenges. I have learned to use my skills to help educate in the way each child learns and support them. Learning is about helping them understand and teaching in a way that helps them get the concept- some do best by listening to me read and others to better by seeing it and reading it themselves. Return demonstration and patience for each step to ensure that they got it down before moving on to the next step. Also finding ways that they enjoy learning with creative approach or making up rhymes and songs to help them remember.

My experience with special needs children...

I have been in nursing field for +20 years and can care for special needs with private caregiver services on a case by case basis. Some medical needs can help with are - Gtubes, other types of nutrition such as TPN/ and NG tubes, Wound care/skin care, pressure ulcer prevention, infection prevention, incontinence care, bowel and bladder training and prevention of obstruction or UTIs, medication assistance, physical and occupational therapy, case manager contact for community resources, driving to doctor appointments and being healthcare advocate as a Liasion for you and relating communication to the doctor or healthcare team. Critical thinking and excellent assessment skills and first aid, life saving measures.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments with caring for children are seeing them learn quickly and how smart children are and creative. Children are also very honest and funny. Love hearing their thoughts and opinions!
