More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have worked with children from a very young age, as I had an ill mother so I raised my younger brother by nine years. I also began babysitting every weekend when I was only in junior high! I had my first full time nanny job summer after my senior year of high school for two awesome and precious girls & have worked as a nanny off and on ever since when the right job and family presented itself! I ran an afterschool program my junior year of college at the private school Oxford University School & started their summer day camp Summer Adventures that following summer. I was a full time camp counselor at Camp Skyline Ranch for two summers where I had twelve to fifteen girls for two week sessions with another counselor. I was the junior counselor who slept and lived with them full time and did not have my own room as the senior counselors did. I grew up at Camp Skyline since age 8. I was also a Leap Frog tutor through my sorority AOPi in college.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...

The most important part about being a nanny...
For me I like to always remember that I am first and foremost there to be the bridge between the parents and their children. What I mean by this is that I'm there to do and be what the parents can not be while they are at work. Thus the most important part about being a nanny is enforcing all rules set forth by the parents while still being seen as an advocate and safe place for their children while they are away. It is also of utmost importance to me that the parents and I are enforcing the same rules even when I am not there so that there is a seamless transition and the children see that their parents and I are on the same page and always working together in their best interest. A united front is the quickest way to have a successful and "perfect fit" and most important step towards the nanny becoming part of the family and not merely an employee.
My experience with special needs children...
I have direct experience working with children and young adults with autism, paralysis, Cerebral Palsy, Cystic Fibrosis, learning and attention deficit disorders, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Birmingham, AL: Emily G.
I am an avid volunteer for multiple organizations that have taught me to be humble, helpful, and happy in life. Although I love to volunteer, I do have to generate income to maintain my bills. I have had experience in child care as well as home health care. I am CPR certified. I am an online college student pursing my Associates Degree in Nursing, which means my availability is open. I am organized, clean, respectful, patient, and genuinely enjoy helping others. I believe adolescence is a time of pure education and critical growth. I would love to be a positive role model for your child/children. My goal is to give children character assets that will develop him/her into a successful, happy, involved young man/lady. I am currently looking for a new family to nanny because my current employer is now at home and no longer needs my assistane.
