The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where children feel seen, respected, and supported. Building trust with both the child and the family is essential, and I believe that emotional safety matters just as much as physical safety.
My experience with special needs children...
While I don’t have formal training yet, I have worked with children on the autism spectrum in group settings and have experience supporting different needs and personalities. I’m currently interested in further training and pursuing work as a Behavior Technician, with the goal of becoming an RBT. I’m patient, observant, and always willing to learn what works best for each child.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments was watching a child I cared for gain confidence in something that initially felt challenging for them. Seeing their excitement and pride when they realized they could do it on their own was incredibly rewarding and reminded me why I love working with children.
