Activities I enjoy doing with children...
As a nanny, I enjoy planning activities that help children learn, explore, and have fun. Indoors, I create a calm space where children can express themselves and use their imagination. Arts and crafts, like coloring, painting, and simple DIY projects, encourage creativity while building fine motor skills and confidence. Reading together strengthens vocabulary and early literacy, and learning games, puzzles, and sensory play with materials like play-dough or kinetic sand support problem-solving and focus.
Outdoors, I love taking walks, visiting parks, and exploring nature. Playgrounds offer climbing, swinging, and running for strength, balance, and confidence. Outdoor games like tag or bubbles, sidewalk chalk, water play, picnics, and simple sports promote teamwork, coordination, and fun. I focus on activities that keep children engaged, happy, and supported while fostering growth, curiosity, and imagination in every environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where children can grow, learn, and feel valued. Safety comes first, making sure children are protected physically and emotionally at all times. At the same time, a nanny should encourage learning, creativity, and independence through age-appropriate activities, routines, and guidance. Building trust and a positive relationship with each child is essential, as is communicating openly with parents to ensure their needs and expectations are met. Patience, reliability, and empathy are key qualities, allowing a nanny to adapt to each child’s personality and needs. Ultimately, being a nanny is about fostering a loving environment where children feel secure, happy, and supported while developing socially, emotionally, and intellectually.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience caring for children with special needs, including working with family and friends who have Down syndrome. In addition, I have professional experience working for a direct care company, where I supported children and adults with various developmental and physical needs. Through these experiences, I have learned to be patient, attentive, and adaptable, providing care that meets each child’s unique requirements. I am skilled at creating a safe and supportive environment, assisting with daily routines, encouraging independence, and promoting positive growth. Working with children with special needs has taught me the importance of empathy, clear communication, and individualized attention, and I enjoy building trust and meaningful connections while supporting their development and well-being.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Some of my favorite moments as a nanny are the small, everyday experiences that show a child’s growth and happiness. I love seeing a child’s face light up when they accomplish something new, whether it’s finishing a craft, learning a new word, or mastering a skill like riding a bike. Story time and reading together, where children get excited about the plot or characters, always bring me joy. I also enjoy outdoor moments, like playing at the park, exploring nature, or blowing bubbles and seeing their pure delight. Baking or preparing snacks together and watching children take pride in their creations is always rewarding. The moments when children laugh, share their thoughts, or show affection remind me why I love working with kids. Each day brings something unique, and being part of their growth, learning, and happiness is what makes my role as a nanny so meaningful.
