The most important part about being a nanny...
being there counts. having someone helps. so many kids don’t have someone to come to about problems while parents are away or working. having someone as an older figure to feel comfortable with expressing their emotions with is essential to how they will view adult figures for their whole lives. it’s important to establish these healthy behaviors early. in order to help them as adults. to never fear asking a question. and never feeling anything they say or think is “dumb”
My experience with special needs children...
I’ll admit my experience with special needs children has been far and few, but I was trained to deal with and watch for any mental learning blocks a child may have from any disability. Those I have interacted with and watched they were just as joyful and expressive as all the other kids with no conflict issues!
The most important part about being a nanny...
my favorite nanny moment has to be when i was a toddler teacher, the kids always loved dance parties and we could only use pandora on the school ipads. thus we had ads. without fail every time 2 of my students would “whoop” along with the ad with a little dance. i thought it was hilarious (and still do haha)
