My experience started from home, I grew up with kids at home and I had to take care of them all the time. Then in high school I was volunteer in a church for teaching kids on Sundays, then in my university, during my major practice I was teaching basic English to kids too and literature.

All these depends of the age definitely. Activities at home for newborns and all the stimulation they need, like read them, sing them, stretching, rolling, etc. For toddlers, well, you definitely must be more creative but still stimulation activities like the Montessori ones.
