More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My childcare experience includes caring for children of all ages, from newborns to teenagers. Throughout college, I babysat for several families, caring for their children from infancy through the toddler years as they grew. I also have experience babysitting children with special needs, which helped me develop patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills. In addition, I spent a summer as a camp counselor for middle and high school students, where I supervised groups, planned activities, and created a fun, safe, and supportive environment.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy keeping kids active, engaged, and having fun! Some of my favorite activities include swimming, going to the park, playing sports, doing arts and crafts, reading books, building with blocks or puzzles, and playing board games or imaginative games indoors. I was a college athlete, so I love encouraging outdoor play and staying active, but I'm just as happy creating fun indoor activities that keep kids entertained and off their screens. I'm flexible and enjoy tailoring activities to each child's interests and age.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is keeping children safe, happy, and cared for. Safety is always my top priority, but I also believe it's important to create a fun, nurturing environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. I strive to be a positive role model, encourage their growth and independence, and build a trusting relationship that helps them feel supported and valued every day.
My experience with special needs children...
While my experience with children with special needs is limited, I have cared for a child with Down syndrome and a child with autism through babysitting. I also volunteered with a special needs classroom at my church during college, assisting with activities and providing support in a caring and inclusive environment. These experiences have helped me develop patience, adaptability, and an understanding of the importance of meeting each child's individual needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I don’t have one single favorite nanny moment, but what has been most meaningful to me is being a consistent and trusted part of the children’s lives. With the families I cared for during college, I still keep in touch and love visiting them now—seeing the kids run up to me excited to share what’s going on in their lives. It’s really special to watch them grow and develop their own personalities, and to know I’ve been a safe, positive presence for them along the way.
