A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Faith Maritz, I’m 22 years old and originally from the beautiful country of South Africa. I’m currently working as an au pair with Cultural Care, where I’ve had the absolute joy of caring for the sweetest little one-year-old since he was just 9 months old. Watching him grow and being part of his daily adventures has been such a rewarding experience!

I’m now hoping to take the next step and become a nanny, with the goal of saving up for my future studies. I truly enjoy working with children, and creating a warm, fun, and safe environment for them is something I’m really passionate about. I’d love the chance to bring my positive energy and care into a new family’s home!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I'm currently working as an Au Pair taking care of an 18 month old baby. However, I have experience working with kids from the ages 1 - 15. I worked as a youth leader back in south africa as well as a dance teacher for children. I also have experience taking care of special needs children since I took care of my sister with Autism back home.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Spending time with children is something I truly cherish, and I love filling our days with fun, laughter, and meaningful moments. I especially enjoy outdoor activities like swimming on sunny days, running around at the park, and soaking up fresh air while we play and explore. I also love taking the kids to the cinema for a movie—it’s always such a joy to see their faces light up with excitement. At home, I’m all about playtime, whether we’re diving into a board game, creating little imaginary worlds through pretend play, or just being silly together. I also genuinely enjoy helping with homework; my love for studying makes it a special time to connect, encourage learning, and cheer them on as they grow. Every moment spent with children is an opportunity to create a safe, joyful space where they can be themselves—and I feel grateful to be part of that.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part about being a nanny is genuine love and care for children. Taking care of children is not an easy task and if you don't have the passion and empathy it takes to care for a child, it could not only hurt you as the nanny but hurt the children.

My experience with special needs children...

I volunteered for a month at a school for special needs in South Africa. Taking care of their needs playing with them and also helping build their set for an upcoming play. I also was the designated sibling who took care of my sister with Autism when our parents had events. I found joy in being able to care for my sister and watch her grow into the women she is today

The most important part about being a nanny...

Recently I taught my host kid how to say his favorite words such as "out" and "oh no". Seeing that my hard work is helping him grow into the beautiful toddler and helping him develop his speech, that he is has to be my favorite moment!

Hello! ☺️ My name is Ashlee, and I recently relocated to the Austin area after spending nearly ten years working in the news industry as a reporter and anchor. Hi there!Hi! I’m Val Lavender, a CPR and First Aid certified caregiver with 4+ years of childcare experience. I was raised in a Montessori household—my mom is a longtime Montessori teacher and consultant, and I’ve helped her open 3 schools, working as both a lead and assistant teacher. I also attended Montessori schools all the way past middle school. I take a calm, hands-on approach rooted in Montessori values like independence, curiosity, and creativity. I love building LEGOs, sketching, crafting, or exploring nature trails (I’ve raised tadpoles every spring since 2020!). In my free time, I hike, swim, cook, garden, and teach hip hop dance to kids and adults a few times a week. I also work in fine-dining, so patience and connection are second nature. If you’re looking for a warm, engaged, and active caregiver, I’d love to connect!
