More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am currently a lead infant teacher at a center but I am relocating to Duluth so have to leave my kiddos. I’ve loved the work I’ve done with these kids and I hope to find a family that is just as passionate about their child’s care and development as I am to teaching it. In the past I have also worked with toddlers and preschoolers and I have a preschooler myself!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I have loved making artwork with kiddos that really shows off their physical growth, cleverly thought out footprint and handprint paintings are a must have in my class. Outside activities that were hits with my classes were things like water play, building fairy gardens, and traditional games like tag and hide and seek!
My experience with special needs children...
I had been handed the trust to care for a family friends special needs child when I was only about 10 years old myself. They were physically disabled and could not speak and had their own developmental delays, and they were only 2 years younger than me. Professionally, I have been able to care for a child dealing with hip dysplasia surgeries and eventually being diagnosed with a type of dwarfism (involved wearing a cast for several months after surgery and having to create a whole routine for them, before finally graduating to a hip brace, and now just before they turned 2 they are finally walking!) I currently care for a little one who had the unfortunate diagnosis of cancer this year, and after months of healing after surgery they are now in remission. They are a regular in physical therapy due to many developmental delays, and me and mom have become such great friends while we support their growth! Additionally, I have around 3 years of memory care experience with older adults.
