Hello, my name is Francisco Mendez, I’m 16 years old, and I am Hispanic. My parents are from Mexico and El Salvador. I speak a good amount of Spanish and understand most of it but not enough to be fluent. I am going into my Senior year of high school and my hobbies consists of weight lifting, chess, boxing, drawing, sports, playing video games, and listening to music. I love music and I like to listen to all kinds of it like Radiohead, Laufey, Romeo Santos, Drake, and more. I’m good at cleaning in general like doing dishes, dusting, or organizing things like a desk. I like drawing a lot, and I would say I'm pretty good at it. I've won an award because of my ability. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have cared for children on several occasions, I have 4 brothers the youngest recently got into middle school. So I have a lot of hands-on experience taking care of my younger brothers, I’ve learned how to be patient, respectful, and attentive. The most notable being Big Brothers Big Sisters and Latinos In Action. Latinos In Action is a leadership and service-based program that encourages students to excel in school and become role models to the younger generation in our community. We tutor younger students such as elementary schoolers and middle schoolers and host service projects such as beach cleanups and hurricane relief donations. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a mentoring program that matches high schoolers and elementary schoolers who may need extra support and guidance. The main objective is to establish positive relationships that help the youth reach their fullest potential. We, as mentors, spend our time with the kids doing activities, talking, and being a trusted role model.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to do all sorts of activities with my younger cousins and brothers, like playing board games and watching shows together. In my profile photo is my cousin Allison, and she is a bundle of joy and energy. We like to play with plushies and other toys, or with her older brother Alejandro, we play video games together. I am open to playing more mind games, such as Chess or sports like Football, and I get along with all of the younger kids I've met.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Although I'm not a nanny, the most important part about being a nanny to me would be the children's security and mood. I would prioritize the kids' security by constantly watching over them and making sure they won't get into any trouble. Being a brother of 3, I've become accustomed to being patient and attentive.
