I cared for children as a teacher for 17 yrs in addition to raising three children of my own. After leaving teaching, I chose to become a nanny and was for six years prior to the pandemic.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to do puzzles, build things, have silly dance time while listening to fun songs, play with play-do and read. Outside we enjoy the water table with bubbles added for extra fun, walking to the neighborhood playground or playing in the yard at home if there is one.

My experience with special needs children...
I have a medical background and have had a special needs child of my own. I have 17 years of experience with learning disabled children. I have observed physical therapy, occupational therapy, visual eye therapy, speech therapy and water therapy to assist with sensory integration. I helped with the activities/ exercises that were assigned to do between therapy sessions.
The most important part about being a nanny...
We had so many moments, but the dance party was probably one of the best. The children dressed up in their Frozen costumes and we turned the lights off and turned on the small strobe disco ball and played the song “Let it Go” from the movie Frozen. We had lots of fun and laughter.
