Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was previously a Lead Pre-K teacher for about 21 students in Mableton, GA. After completing the full year I was a part-time floater due to school commitments. I was also part of the team for the after school program. I’m currently in the process of obtaining my RBT certification so I do have experience with children on the spectrum and absolutely love to work with parents to help support their growth.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing any and everything with children! Seeing a smile on a child’s face makes it all worth it. I do enjoy educational activities the most but with nannying I do ask parents what are their go to activities and is there anything educational I should lean into.
The most important part about being a nanny...
patience, understanding, communication(with the kids and parents!!) and genuine love. Working with children is a calling that you can’t deny. I never thought I would want to be a teacher but my heart always leads me to positions with children!
My experience with special needs children...
I had 2 autistic students in my previous position and it showed me that I needed more resources to help them. I completed a 40-hour certification for RBTs so I would have more knowledge on how to help those students learn and manage their day to day in the school environment and am in process to get my full certification.
The most important part about being a nanny...
not nanny but teacher moment, we were making oobleck as a science experiment and I slipped and took my assistant teacher with me and got covered in wood chips! The kids could not stop laughing.
