Hi Families!! My name is Gabriella Tosone and I am a rising junior at Boston College studying psychology. I am looking to live on Martha's Vineyard this summer and would need to be a live in nanny! I have been babysitting since I was 11 years old and I absolutely love working with kids. I view babysitting as more than just a job. I am the type of babysitter who wants to form relationships with the kids and I treat the kids I babysit as my own family. I am a hardworking and energetic individual who loves hard. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked various jobs that involved working with children. For four years in high school, I babysat consistently for multiple families on date nights and they became just like siblings to me. I also was a substitute teacher for grades Kindergarten-second grade. I was the only teacher in the classroom, taught every lesson and interacted with the kids in between lessons. I also babysit while here at Boston College. I am an afternoon nanny on Monday and Friday afternoons for 3 kids. I pick them up from school and play outside all afternoon with them. I also babysit on date nights for a second family here in Newton for a kindergartener. I was also a lifeguard at my town country club for two summers. I taught swim lessons to the youngest children, coached swim team for the younger kids, made food in the snack bar and guarded the water during the day. I also hosted family fun night events and worked swim meets. I formed connections with the kids at the pool and the families as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love to play outside and be active. I am a huge beach and pool person in the summer. When the weather does not permit, I love to play board games, do arts and crafts, and get creative playing made up games. I also love a good movie night!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part about being a nanny is the ability to form a relationship and deeper connection with the kids. I view nannying as something more than a job. It is a chance for me to grow with the kids and get to know them- what they like, what they struggle with, what they want to learn, what adventures excite them, and so much more. It is as much a learning experience and family connection for me as it is for the kids in my eyes.

My experience with special needs children...

I have a few family friends with kids who have special needs and I always spend some of my time with them when we are hanging out as families. I have also worked in the public school system so I have experience with special needs students.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I find this so hard to pick just one, but I think my favorite moments would be when the kids are so comfortable with me that they share personal moments from their days with me and I am always greeted with a hug and enthusiastic "Gabby!!" It makes my day every single time!
