I love outdoor exploration ~ nature walks, animal time, and simple dirt or garden play. I also bring in movement through kid-friendly yoga and stretching, plus sensory activities like water and rice bin play. Reading, storytelling, music, and dancing are daily staples, and I enjoy baking simple things together too. I try to follow a child’s natural curiosity and keep the day full of hands-on, unhurried moments.

The most important part about being a nanny is earning a child’s trust and making them feel truly safe ~ safe to explore, ask questions, make mistakes, and just be themselves. Consistency and presence matter more than anything else; kids can tell when someone is genuinely there with them versus just going through the motions. I also believe a nanny should support the values and rhythms of the family she’s working with, not just her own ~ it’s a partnership, and communication is key to making that work well for everyone.

One of my favorite parts of nannying is watching the child I care for and my own daughter form a real bond ~ seeing them play, laugh, and grow together is something I never get tired of. I also love being part of milestone moments, whether that’s helping a child learn to give a high five, cheering them on as they take their first steps, or just noticing how much they’ve grown since we started. Those small, everyday wins are what make this work so meaningful to me.
