A little bit about me

I am a deeply caring person whose joy in life is children and the elderly. I believe in creating a space where a child is safe, loved, and feels secure. I believe consistency truly matters. I am a trained chef so I also put alot of effort into nutrition. I believe a proper healthy diet, taking part in nature, art, music, and creative play. I'm a patient person who believes children are capable of being taught how to express their emotions and learn to work through problems with the right guidance. I am willing to drive in emergencies however prefer it not be a part of my day to day responsibilities. I am happy to cook for the family and do light housekeeping. I am able to accomodate meals for different health needs be it diabetics or vegetarians if needed. I am well versed in making homemade baby food. I do believe my focus should be on the child or children so deep housecleaning is not ideal. I do require 2 weekends off.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I believe playtime is an opportunity to learn and express oneself for a child
Art is important. As is experiencing nature. Gardening is a love of mine to introduce children to. I love to cook and have found children love to as well. I also enjoy any activity that incorporates intoducing children science and the amazing world we live in. Whether we are growing veggies or building cardboard castles, each activity is a chance to teach and explore.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It's a combination of things that make a nanny wonderful. Truly loving what you do is one of them. Patience and the ability to redirect and deescalate situations in a positive way is highly important. I also believe a nanny must maintain a sense of childlike wonder in the world in order to connect with children.

My experience with special needs children...

My son is autistic so my experience is very personal. He is now 23, succesful, and on his own! Everyone told me it would be impossible but we proved them wrong! With the right tools,patience,consistency, and love anything is possible.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It's so hard to narrow my favorite moment down. I truly love what I do. The most emotional moments are witnessing children do things they did not think they could. Knowing I have fostered confidence in themselves to succeed and try new things is simply magic!
