More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a preschool teacher assistant for the Huntington Ave YMCA and Wang YMCA Boston for 3 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Some activities I enjoy doing with children are sensory activities. Creating fun games to engage their curiosity.
One example that I use is a zip lock bag and placing a white sheet of paper with colorful paint inside of it, so then the child can manipulate the paint without getting paint everywhere, while advancing their developmental growth. This is safe and works with many ages and is mess free with the bonus of having a cute art piece done by your baby Picasso to hang on your fridge 😊

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny for me is creating a family bond with a family and knowing they trust me in caring for their child and I showing them my trust and loyalty. But then also knowing I can keep their child safe and away from harm always.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children has been a part of my life since childhood. Having family and friends on the spectrum has given me the knowledge on how to care for them.
Not every special need child is the same, so understanding what their specific need is helps you help them better. Also being patient, delicate with your words and action is very important always because they can mostly go based off of your energy, if they have no other way to communicate.
I’ve learned that each child has an individual language whether it’s verbally or non verbally. To which one must learn by creating one on one moments with them, solely to create a better understanding on their personality for their comfort and sense of safety. I can proudly say I’m well experienced with special needs children and advocate for them every chance I’m given.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I have many favorite nanny moments, but one in particular was when I worked for a family in Boston. Their child was Italian and Mexican but mainly spoke Italian. He was 3 years old at the time and I had brought him to the Boston Public Library. He didn’t like being in his stroller so when we would arrive I would let him out to walk alongside me. One day he got a little tired of walking and spoke to me in Italian, asking me to put him back in his stroller. I didn’t catch what he said and I asked him again in english, but his english wasn’t the best and he couldn’t say it in spanish. So he grabbed my hand and placed it on the stroller and said “passeggino“ then poked at himself. It was so funny to me and wise of him that it made me laugh, as I picked him up he gave me kiss on my shoulder and hugged me. It was so wholesome and overwhelming I called his mom and we had a great laugh, she and I both had a blissful moment knowing he was loved and knew to communicate and show gratitude.

I am 22 years old from Danvers currently living in Lynnfield! I don’t have my own personal car currently it is being repaired. During my childcare experience I have worked in an after school program for 2 years with elementary school children. I provided them with food and activities throughout the evening. After that I worked for the boys and girls club where I would watch children ages 4-16 years old. We would feed them follow protocols and daily schedules. We would also go on various field trips. Finally I babysat a little boy with Down syndrome! I would pick him up from school and do drop off. I would also prep his food do his laundry bath him and put him down for naps! He also had an older sister in 5th grade who I would sometimes do drop off/ pickup as well! I love working with children and miss it very much!
