A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Geneva, but I also go by G or Gigi! I currently have 3 nieces all a year or younger. I will absolutely love to play with your kids to help keep them engaged or do some crafts! I am a crafty person (even if it looks as good as the kids haha) and enjoy taking care of kids. I will always be right there for the kids if they need help with homework or any projects! Kids’ minds are just so creative and I love to see them blossom.
My mom was a Self- Contained teacher so I am also experienced with kids on the spectrum/ any special needs a child may have.
I am planning to return back to school to get my Bachelors in Social work. As I do want to continue to work with kids. PLEASE! Feel free to ask me any questions and I will gladly answer.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I started out babysitting at the age of 12 and have been since. Prior experience has been with a variety of ages as well as I have watched over kids with special needs. My mom was a self contained teacher and I loved to go in her classroom to help the kids out. I have tutor and peer mentoring experience as well.
I also have watched over nursery/ mother’s rooms. I do currently have 3 nieces all a year or under! So I am always hanging out and taking care of kids.
I do need to update my CPR and AED certification as they have expired and I will be doing so soon!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities I enjoy doing with kids would be things like crafts / educational crafts, I do love to play board games or make our own imaginary game, I will absolutely play any video games, I may not be great at video games but I do enjoy playing, watch a show/ movie (IF ALLOWED ELECTRONICS ONLY! ALL GAMES/ MOVIES WILL BE APPROVED)

Outdoor activities I like to do with kids is watching them ride their bikes, scooters, etc… I would do my best to teach them as well! I would love to play any games outside like throwing a ball around or jump rope! I am very open to do activities with kids.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is listening to the kids and getting to know who they are. The best way to help kids is knowing them.

My experience with special needs children...

My mom worked in a Self-Contained class, I loved to go down to her school after I was out and help with her students. I would read, tutor, and help with homework.
I also did babysit a 10-12 year old girl who had cerebral palsy. I did help with feeding, bathroom duties, as well as entertaining.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my ABSOLUTE favorite memories of being a nanny is years after I had no longer watch this boy because he wasn’t in need of a nanny anymore. He found me in public and ran up to me to hug me and say he misses being able to hang out with me! It was so heartwarming.
