Hello! My name is Gina and I am currently a sophomore at Illinois State University. I am working towards my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and am looking to gain more experience in childcare as a future educator. I have 5+ years of experience babysitting for family and friends, as well as working as a nanny for 3 kids under the age of 10 this past summer. I am hoping to find a position that will align with my class schedule this semester, allowing me to work Mondays after 4 pm, Tuesdays after 5 pm, Wednesdays after 1 pm, Thursdays after 5 pm, Fridays after 1 pm, and anytime during the weekends.

I am currently a nanny for a family in Elmhurst for summer break! But I have also been a babysitter for many family friends and other families in my hometown.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love hearing what the kids want to do and making an effort to partake in activities they enjoy. For example the kids I nanny for now love playing with slime so I took them to the store to get supplies to make our own slime!

The most important part of being a nanny in my opinion is making sure the kids feel loved while also being able to lay down the law when needed. I feel that you should develop a good relationship with the children you nanny for, but also ensure you are being taken seriously.

The most important part about being a nanny...

being able to go get starbucks with the kids, take them to the pool, get a tan in, ALL while getting paid to do it! I love being a nanny because kids are so much fun and hanging out with the little humans as a job feels perfect for me as a soon-to-be teacher :)
