My experience with special needs children...
As a teacher I had a few students diagnosed with ADHD and was responsible for helping them succeed while learning a new language, and I did that by adjusting my method to more fun and engaging activities and giving each of them a special attention to understand their individual needs and meet them. As an au pair, I cared for a bright and loving 10 year old diagnosed with Autism and ADHD for 2 years. I was able to expand my knowledge and embrace diversity while getting attached to their unique way of viewing the world. That was a deep and personal experience that also taught me more about patience, love, conflict solving and communication.
