Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I took care of a sweet 6-month-old boy in Chestnut Hill, MA. I was his nanny and helped his mom around the house too - doing laundry, prepping meals, and light cleaning. It was such an amazing experience for me because I got to be part of a really special family, and I discovered something I truly love: kids!
Back in Brazil, I spent almost five years as a volunteer teacher at a Christian church, teaching 2 to 4-year-olds about Biblical values and principles. In the classes, I would read stories, do arts and crafts, play games, and lead fun activities like icebreakers, team-building, and social skills to help the kids connect.
That time was really special to me because I learned so much from the kids and their families, and I was able to be part of their lives.
In 2023, after moving back to the USA, I occasionally took care of a newborn, from birth to 4 months old.
Then, in 2024, I worked as a nanny taking care of a lovely 5 months old boy for about 8 months and a 4 months old girl…

Outdoor play, painting, art and craft, reading books, baking and cooking, educational games such as puzzles and many others things that they can be creative and have fun.

For me, the most important part about being a nanny is ensuring the safety and well-being of the children. Also, creating a nurturing environment, fostering development, building trust and communication and being a positive role model.

One of my favorite nanny moment was when I helped a child learn to walk. Seeing the joy in his face was incredibly rewarding.

I've been babysitting/working as a nanny on and off for 15yrs. The first family I cared for had a type 1 diabetic: I had the responsibility of managing his blood sugar and administering insulin shots as needed. I currently am a certified nurse's aide (CNA) working on a memory care unit, and I am applying to nursing school. It appears both young kids as well as the elderly seem to be fond of me! I'm also a cat owner and dog "auntie," and have sat for people's pets previously. I am currently looking for part time caregiver jobs, as working 60hrs a week in a nursing home is starting to be draining, and would love to find another job (still caring for people) to supplement my income so I can reduce my hours in the nursing home; furthermore, I would like a little more one-on-one time with those I care for. Also, for transparency, I think I could use a job that allows me to focus a little more on my nursing studies, or has hours that work well with my class schedule.
