I’m currently caring for my grandkids p/t while parents work 2 days a wk and from a big family so children have always been around me. I’m the one that is called to sit and I love it. I believe I’m very qualified with all ages.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I can honestly say this is what most kids love about me and I love doing w/them. I enjoy coloring, play dough, drawing, construction paper art, reading, holiday crafting, games, puzzles, and of course the imaginative fun of cops & robbers, & hiding from monsters, playing hide & seek, riding bikes, taking walks, watching videos, going to movies, the zoo, playing on swing set or the park, I could go on and on. So many things to do w/kids. Never bored!!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I want to make sure the children are safe and they are comfortable with me so they will come to me for all their needs. Feeling safe is the most important.
My experience with special needs children...
My grandson recently passed away from heart problems and I was a big part of his life. I help with his meds and meals and when in hospital I’d stay w/him for company. His sickness taught me a lot about the special needs that are needed w/sick children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was at restaurant one evening and ran into the family eating. The 3yr old jump off his mom’s lap and ran so fast to me smiling really big yelling my name. Everybody laughed. And when I leave to go home the child will cry for me to stay.
