The most important part about being a nanny...

This moment is one I will remember for the rest of my life. I absolutely love to cook and I think it's a wonderful activity! Teaching real-world skills, while simultaneously having fun, and making something yummy is a fantastic mix. The story comes from a few years ago when I was the personal nanny to the sweetest little six year old girl and we were making breakfast, specifically pancakes. We had so much fun mixing the batter, and then I began cooking the pancakes, flipping them as you do. She got so excited and asked me if she could try to flip one, so I set the pancake up for her, cooked on one side ready to be flipped and helped her wiggle the spatula underneath...and then she accidently only flipped the pancake halfway so it folded. I turned and looked at her and she gasped like she had just done the most incredible thing in the world and shouted "I did it!" with such gusto that I almost couldn't stop laughing. She thoroughly enjoyed that folded pancake with lots of syrup.
